 Divorce solicitor - 2007/02/15 13:13 Is it worth using a divorce solicitor? I spent thousands on legal fees but am sure it could all have been settled out of court at a fraction of the cost...

I think it is in solicitors interests to protract a settlement and go for everything they can for their client. This causes upset and anger between the couple in the middle.

Surely it is better to try and be amicable and try and settle out of court as opposed to pointlessly spending thousands for very little return and cause lots of animosity?
